Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain language, what information MyTimothy collects, how it is used, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account.

Who we are

MyTimothy is a church communication app provided by Juillet Studios. The information in your church's MyTimothy account helps your church stay connected — for prayer, care, serving, groups, events, missions, and giving. Your church decides who is invited, who leads each area, and which optional features are turned on.

Information you provide

  • Your account information: your email address, your name, and the churches you belong to.
  • Sign-in information: you can sign in with an email and password, or with Google. MyTimothy does not store your password — sign-in is handled securely by our platform provider.
  • Content you share in the app: prayer requests you submit, care you ask for, messages you send to your group or church, volunteer sign-ups, serving check-ins, worship team availability, and event registrations.
  • Photos and files you or your church upload, such as profile and ministry images.

Your church connection, roles, and permissions

Your church's administrators control your membership: which church you belong to, your role (member, leader, or administrator), and any ministry areas or teams you serve in. Administrators can also grant specific ministry permissions — for example, reviewing prayer requests, helping with care ministry, or managing missions content. Each church also controls which optional features (like Directory, Care, Missions, Live Prayer, online Giving, and livestream) are available to its members. Membership and permission information is visible to your church's administrators and, where relevant, to your ministry leaders.

Directory and your contact information

MyTimothy includes an optional church Directory. You control what you share:

  • Nothing in your Directory profile is visible to other members until you choose to share it. Each piece of information — your photo, address, phone, email, and household details — is shared only if you turn it on, field by field.
  • What you share is visible only to members of your own church.
  • When another member views your information (for example, from a contact card), they see only the fields you chose to share.
  • Emergency contact information is more restricted: it is used only for care follow-up and is visible only to authorized care workers and church administrators — never to ordinary members.

Households and celebrations

Your church's administrators can connect family members into households and record shared household information (such as a shared address). Birthdays and anniversaries for your household may appear on your church's celebrations list so your church family can rejoice with you. Age and birth year are never shown — only the celebration itself. Celebrations do not currently generate notifications. Household associations are managed by your church's administrators.

Prayer requests

Prayer requests you submit go to your church office for review before being shown to your church family, according to the audience you choose. If a prayer ministry member enters a request on your behalf, they confirm with you first that you agreed it may be shared. Prayer requests are never shared outside your church, and no one outside your church can see them.

Asking for care (Prayer → Care and MyBarnabas)

Sometimes a prayer request includes a request for practical care — for example, a prayer call, a meal, or a visit. This happens only with your explicit consent:

  • You select the care options you want, and separately agree that someone from your church may contact you about them. This consent is separate from submitting the prayer request itself.
  • Your care selections are never shown with your prayer request in the prayer feed. They are private.
  • Selecting care creates a private care record for your church's care ministry to follow up with you.

If your church offers MyBarnabas, you can also request care directly. Care records are private: your church's authorized care leaders can see the care list and coordinate follow-up, and an assigned care volunteer can see and help with only the care assigned to them. Internal care coordination notes are never visible to you or to other members. Authorized care workers may see your emergency contact information in order to follow up. Care notes are never automatically analyzed or summarized by automated systems. MyBarnabas is church ministry coordination — it is not medical care, counseling, mental-health treatment, or emergency services. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency service.

Missions (MyPaul)

If your church offers Missions, your church curates the mission partners, updates, and teams shown to members. If you express interest in a mission team, that interest is visible only to your church's missions leaders and administrators — never to other members — and you can withdraw it at any time.

Serving, groups, messages, calendar, and worship

  • Serving: when you sign up for a serving opportunity or check in as arrived, your church's leaders and administrators can see your sign-up. Serving opportunities show only aggregate volunteer counts to members.
  • Groups and messages: your group participation is visible within your group. Messages sent by leaders may be reviewed by your church according to its approval settings. Your own messages are visible to the groups they were sent to.
  • Calendar: event registrations you make are handled by your church office.
  • Worship: if you serve on a worship team, your availability and assignments are visible to your worship leaders.
  • Church Resources: your church may add up to three links to external websites (chosen by your church). Those websites are outside MyTimothy and have their own privacy practices.

Giving and payments

MyTimothy works with Stripe, a payment processor, to handle gifts to your church. Each church connects its own Stripe account, and gifts go directly to your church. MyTimothy charges churches and donors no fee or percentage on donations.

  • Card and bank details you use to give are entered into Stripe's secure checkout. MyTimothy never sees or stores your full card or bank account numbers.
  • MyTimothy stores the details your church needs for its records: your name, email, gift amounts and dates, which fund each gift supported, receipts, refunds, and year-end giving statements.
  • Disputes or chargebacks on a gift are handled between you, your church, and the church's payment processor.
  • If you set up a recurring gift, MyTimothy keeps a record of the schedule and amount so you can manage or stop it at any time.

Live Prayer

If your church offers Live Prayer, joining a live prayer session opens in your web browser and is powered by Whereby, a third-party video meeting service. When you join, you choose whether to allow your device's camera and microphone — those permissions are granted to the browser session, not to the app.

  • MyTimothy does not record, store, or transcribe any Live Prayer video or audio.
  • Joining passes through MyTimothyPrayer, our separate Live Prayer companion service, which creates only a short-lived, single-use access link so a volunteer can admit you. The link contains no prayer content.
  • A Live Prayer conversation is never automatically turned into a prayer request or a care record.
  • The live video and audio in the session are processed by Whereby under their own privacy terms.
  • Live Prayer is a church prayer ministry — not counseling, medical or mental-health care, or emergency services. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency service.

Notifications and email

MyTimothy sends in-app notifications, and your church can send email messages and reminders. On a phone with the app installed, MyTimothy can send push notifications (for example, an urgent prayer notice or a livestream alert). Push notices never include financial details or the content of a prayer request. You can adjust your notification choices in the app at any time.

Other services we use

  • Base44 — the platform that hosts MyTimothy, manages sign-in, and sends email.
  • Stripe (including Stripe Connect) — payment processing for church subscriptions and gifts.
  • MyTimothyPrayer — our separate Live Prayer companion service, which manages your church's volunteer roster and private-room access (metadata only — never prayer content).
  • Whereby — Live Prayer video sessions (Live Prayer churches only).
  • Google — optional sign-in with Google, and website fonts.
  • YouTube — embedding your church's livestream on the Live Stream page.
  • Apple and Google push services — to deliver push notifications on installed apps.

Keeping your information and deleting your account

Your account and personal information are kept while your membership is active. You can delete your account at any time — the option is available in the app under Support Center and in your account menu, and at mytimothy.com/delete-account. The deletion process asks you to read what will happen, type DELETE to confirm, sign in again to confirm it is really you, and give one final confirmation.

When you delete your account:

  • Your personal records — such as prayer requests you submitted, your notifications, your sign-ups, and your Directory profile (including emergency contact information) — are deleted.
  • Your church memberships, roles, and ministry permissions are removed.
  • Your name is removed from member-visible displays (shown instead as a former member).
  • Any active recurring gifts you have are stopped first, so you are never charged again.
  • Records your church must keep — such as records of gifts you made for tax purposes, church financial and safety records, and care coordination history — are kept as required for legitimate recordkeeping, but they are no longer linked to your account and cannot be used to access MyTimothy.

If you are the only administrator or the owner of a church, you will need to transfer that responsibility before you can delete your account.

Security and access control

Access to church information in MyTimothy is restricted church by church: members see only their own church, and sensitive areas (like church administration, care coordination, and giving records) require specific authorization granted by your church. These access controls are enforced by our servers, not just the app on your device, and connections to MyTimothy are secured with encryption in transit. We also keep limited security and audit records — for example, records that an administrator changed a setting — which contain activity details only, not the content of your prayers or care requests. No system is perfect.

Children and teens

MyTimothy accounts are for users age 13 and older, and users ages 13–17 may use MyTimothy with appropriate parent or legal guardian authorization. Children under 13 may not create or independently use a MyTimothy account. MyTimothy does not currently operate a technical parental-consent verification system — obtaining parent or guardian authorization is the responsibility of the young user's parent or guardian and the church. Household and church records may include information concerning minors where it is appropriately entered and managed by authorized users and the church, under the privacy controls described in this policy.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page with a new revision date. The latest version is always available on our website.
